The Skipper Polo
The weight of every fabric is chosen on purpose, for how it drapes and the job each piece has to do.
210gsm textured cotton.
Johnny collar with a three-button placket, worn open.
Knit collar that holds its line, wash after wash.
Cold machine wash. Line dry.
The polo, reduced to what matters: collar, cloth, cut. Made to remain.
Weight: 210gsm. Light structure, fine texture.
Cut for a clean, considered fit. Take your usual size. It's structured through the shoulder and easy through the body. Garment-washed and pre-shrunk, so expect under 2% shrinkage on a first cold wash.
The Blueprint: fabric & care
210gsm of fine-textured cotton gives the collar the body to stand on its own, no fusing and no flop, and the placket the weight to fall clean. No logo, no motif. Just the knit, the collar roll and the fit doing the work.
Why the weight matters. A lighter knit clings and shows everything under it. We build with enough mass to fall in a clean line and hold it. Combed, long-staple cotton keeps the surface smooth and cuts down on pilling. A little elastane, where we use it, gives the knit some memory, so it returns to shape instead of bagging at the collar, cuff and hem.
Considered construction. Cotton-first cloth, with no performance coatings and no anti-odour tech. Blends earn their place: a touch of elastane where recovery matters, nothing else. Pre-shrunk, double-needle set, seams sewn to lie flat.
Caring for it. Wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Skip the tumble dryer. Dry flat or on a low line to protect the shape and the weight. Warm iron if you like a crisp finish.
The Tervan Promise. Wear it, wash it, live in it. If the fit isn't right, you have 14 days and we cover the return pickup, with no forms to argue with. And on the rare day a piece falls short of the standard we set, we make it right. That's the whole promise.
